Our pal Andrew Bright called us on Saturday and asked if we were still closed on Sundays as his friend and kids wanted to come fishing in the afternoon. We were happy to oblige and with the Moto X track now closed we will continue to open on Sundays and close on Mondays and thanks to our guides Jack and Dii for giving up their day off at short notice. Lots of fish for all of them with several different species and lots of fun.
 
Ken Whealen has just managed to rejoin his family from USA and he bought them down for a mornings fishing. His Son Matthew had a ball catching loads of fish from different species including an Arapaima on just his second cast. Well and truly hooked and is already asking Mum and Dad when they can come back.
 
There’s nothing better than seeing the kids enjoying the fishing with their parents and with few customers and reduced rates there is no better time than now to enjoy some ………….”FUNFISHIN!”………🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠😎

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

Our pal Jamie Davies is set to be leaving us soon so he rounded a few of the lads ‘n lasses for a farewell fishing afternoon.

Our guides were fishing for small live bait (java barb) in the morning using very light tackle, tiny hook and just a little pinch of ground bait on the hook and they did not expect the Alligator Gar (above) to take the bait !

After a full English breakfast the guys got fishing and it was pretty much non stop. Popeye (aka Keith Star) from Freedom bar in Rawai was tearing into them with loads of fish from several different species including a nice Arapaima. Unfortunately this one escaped the camera as he jumped out of the pen for his own freedom.

Dodge from White Hart (below) in Rawai had his second go at fishing and he too got amongst ’em as did everyone else. Jamie had a good few but spent more time buying everyone else drinks and consuming a good few himself.

Empty fridge this morning and a great afternoon in top company, thanks to everyone involved with more “FUNFISHIN!”…..🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🍻😎

A Big THANK YOU to our landlords Khun Min and Khun Thames for yesterday giving us a lifeline that will help us get through these crazy times. They have given us loads of help over the last few years and while overheads far outweigh any income there is some light at the end of the tunnel with a vaccine becoming available soon.
 
Tough and stressful times for everyone world over and another big Thank You to my better half “Jen” for her help, the staff and some good friends for their support….onwards and upwards, looking forward to better times.

A Big Thank You

Another very quiet week comes to an end but we were lucky enough to get a smattering of customers, some ex pats, some Thai’s on holiday and some Thai’s that live in Phuket.

Yesterday the boss of the Best Western Hotel bought his lad down for a days fishing and he was also joined a little later by a couple of his mates.

LOADS of fish between them from several different species and a few decent lumps in the mix.

Two of the lads fished mainly traditional “Thai” style and the other fished light tackle with a very fine float, match fishing style targeting the smaller fish which is why his catches were not photographed. With the lake to themselves they all tried varying methods as the day went on and one of the boys said he had stopped counting at around fifty fish so a very busy day and smiling faces all round at the end of it😀.

We have slashed our rates and the fish are more than up for it, there is a limited menu between 10 am and 2pm ( we can be flexible) and the fridge is always full so why not come and join us for some…..”FUNFISHIN!”…..🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠😎

It was nice to welcome back Paul and Kanika who have just gone through the Bangkok quarantine after returning from the UK, lots of fish caught and the same goes for a young Thai angler with plenty of fish and some help from Mum.
