More Kids Fishing

More Kids Fishing and the first of a two-day session for our pal “Lau Kau” which saw him land over 50 fish. After last weeks mega session he was once again chasing the Arapaima but this time they eluded him although he did hook into and loose one. He made up for it with another extremely high catch rate day and also caught his first Alligator Gar that unfortunately bolted from the net before a photo could be taken. Let’s see what today will bring for him, he’s already got a few under his belt this morning.
 
Jesper Jenson is holidaying in Phuket and he bought the kids down for the afternoon, lovely kids, Tony, Sam, Mo and Yo had a ball with lots of fish from several species including a nice Mekong Catfish, a species that we usually catch lots of at this time of the year but so far have been on the missing list so fingers crossed that will be the start of them back on the feed. Jesper and the kids left with smiling faces and are due back again this week. Why not join them and take advantage of reduced rates and crazy catch rates, it’s definitely ……”FUNFISHIN!”…..🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠😎

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

Another day starts with the dawn, a beautiful time, cool before the heat of the day ahead.
 
It’s a full moon tomorrow and while there are many arguments as to whether a full moon improves the fishing we have found that often the days either side of a full moon and the day itself can be very productive, perhaps that is why the last customer we had here on Tuesday managed around 60 fish for his session….who knows but one thing is for sure, the catch rates here at the moment are off the record.
 
We don’t pretend to have monsters although as you can see in the photos we do have some good-sized lumps. We market our place as “fun fishing” and that is exactly what we offer, with a laid back approach and often non stop action. Our normal rates give better value than any other comparable parks in the region and our reduced rates take that to the next level, the fridge is always full so why not get in touch and come and join us for some……”FUNFISHIN!”……🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠🎣🐟🐠😎

Our Danish pal Lars Busck known to his friends as “Lau Kau” (Thai Rice Whisky) after the name of his bar in Patong joined us once again and proved that last weeks success was not just luck or a one-off as he landed around 60 fish including 2 Arapaima for a very busy days work. Non-stop action from the start and several different species, loads of Red Tails showing and double hookups the norm, his better half Sheina had to lend a helping hand and the guides did not get many chances for photos.
 
The Carp are on and off at the moment and the Mekong still yet to show but the other fish are more than making up for it so if crazy catch rates are what you are up for along with loads of space, slashed rates and a full fridge look no further and join us for some …..”FUNFISHIN!”……🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣😎

Quiet Weekend Customer Wise

MORNING WORLD…..

 
A very quiet weekend customer wise. Sunday saw the return of a Malaysian regular who as ever had plenty of fish and our pal and season ticket holder Dave Allen also had a good haul in the morning.
 
With the afternoon so quiet and Monday our day off we decided to head to the West coast of Phang Nga. Jen had found a nice little place to stay which was cheap as chips and just across the road from long near-deserted beaches.
 
We went to the pier for the sunset and were surprised at how many locals were around with lots of people fishing and doing ok as well. As we walked back from the pier to the beach Jens’ ability to smell a beer kicked in as she spotted a mobile cocktail bar. It turns out that the Aussie guy (Wombat) and his wife had only opened up a couple of months ago and so it only seemed right to stop and sample the 50 baht beers while Jazzy played in the sand…perfect.
 
After chewing the fat with Wombat for a few more beers it was time to head back to the guest house and order dinner which was also very cheap but extremely good and delivered to the room where we sat outside, the only sound being the insects of the night, a couple more cold ones and an early night.
 
The following morning we were up early and we drove along the west coast road with some great scenery heading to Khao Lak and a 3 km bamboo rafting trip which was discounted due to the current situation. Another great experience and Jazzy loved it.
 
We then headed to the east coast and to the jetty where the boats go to James Bond Island but it seems that the lack of people here meant that nothing was operating so we headed back to Phuket where Jen had found a lovely restaurant “Bangpaeseefood” hidden away on the east coast, right on the beach amongst the mangroves, great setting and lovely food at good prices. Nice to get away and with things being as they are we did it all on a shoestring budget and we hope to go back soon with some friends and try out the fishing from the pier as well.
