Dynamic Duo Were Back Again

MORNING WORLD…..

 
The dynamic duo were back again yesterday. We have a special arrangement with them allowing them to fish when we are closed giving them the lake to themselves and a dedicated guide each. They have extra rods on tap so there is very little downtime and they go for it hammer and tong, making it more of a marathon than a relaxing days fishing. They arrived just before 6am and headed straight to their chosen favourite swims, the guides, Jack and Dee were already here and had things ready to go. Yours truly took round the mandatory “cuppa” to get things started and they were off. I was finishing off the refurbishment to our kitchens but every time I looked over either one or both of them was into a fish with Jack and Dee either in the water, netting fish or fetching more bait hence the lake of photos. This much work called for re fueling so they did stop for a full English breakfast but no sooner had they cleared their plates they were back at it.
 
Their previous visit a couple of weeks ago saw Rob smash the lake record taking 112 fish for the session and 177 fish between them and I had my doubts as to whether this could be bettered….I was wrong !… Rob finished his session with 125 fish including two Arapaima and some fair sized Carp and Albert stopped on exactly 100 fish for his days work, remarkable catch rates 225 fish between them!
 
So two very weary and thirsty anglers made their way back to the “office table” where we discussed the days action over a few well earned “cold ones” with Rob already hinting that he feels 150 fish for the day would be possible. Has he thrown the gauntlet down? We shall see. Its a real pleasure to have these guys fishing with us, our thanks to them for their continued support and well done to Jack and Dee, it’s not easy keeping up with these two, a well earned day off today but we’re back at it from 8am tomorrow morning.

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

English angler Owen took a little time out from his work at “The Soi Dog Foundation” to celebrate his birthday and along with his American pal Jim, the pair had a busy day’s fishing with lots of fish from several species. Small but perfectly formed Arapaima each as well as Siamese Carp, Walking Cats, Amazon, Asian and Tiger Red Tail Cats and loads of pacu kept the rods bent throughout the day, well done lads, we hope you enjoyed it.

Some restrictions including alcohol sales in “restaurants” were eased a few days ago and while this has been great news for many and we wish all of these venues the best of luck after months of struggles, it has resulted in us having an even quieter week than usual so if you fancy taking advantage of the reduced prices, lots of very hungry fish with very high catch rates we would love to see you for some ….”FUNFISHIN!”….🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟😎
