Still Extremely Quiet But

MORNING WORLD…..

 
While things are still extremely quiet but we feel blessed to have had customers on each day that we have been open so far this week.
 
Jim who teaches at an International school in Bangkok returned for a second visit with his lad Frank and his mates Vinnie, Ed and Ewan, a lovely bunch of young men and it was great to watch them preparing and baiting for themselves, I reckon they covered every inch of the bank in pursuit of the “big one” as lads do. They’re staulking was rewarded as Frank hooked into a nice Arapaima, the battle followed and just before the fish was ready to give up a head shake was enough to free the hook and Frank took defeat with dignity, next time mate, eh.
 
All the boys had plenty of fish, one of them saying it was the best day of his holiday, music to our ears and our pleasure.

DEALS

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

Yesterday We Welcomed Back

Yesterday we welcomed back Jemma, Alan and Frankie who are holidaying in Patong, nice to see them for their second visit and they were kept busy throughout the day with lots of fish.
 
The sandbox is definitely working as we had another couple of chaps join us for the afternoon, more to follow we hope. The afternoon also saw some regular ex pat customers to give us a much needed and appreciated relatively busy day.
 
While business for us is very slowly improving we learn that some bar/restaurants in Rawai have been told to close for a week. Patong, Karon and Kata are still very quiet and it seems that the powers that be are in no hurry to get businesses back open.
There’s even a rumour of an alcohol ban coming into effect, lets hope this all changes soon and in the meantime we will keep plodding along, offering cut price…..”FUNFISHIN!”…..🎣🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟😎

A Quiet Weekend But…

MORNING WORLD…..

A quiet weekend but a couple of happy customers yesterday.

Brit ex pats, Lin and her lad Josh joined us again for the morning and some nice fish. Another slightly older Brit also called Josh had contacted e the previous day and he spent the afternoon with us. Josh had only arrived in Phuket the previous day through the Phuket Sandbox and he wasted no time in finding somewhere to get a bend in the rod, lots of fish for him fishing right next to the bar, a constant stream of Red tail cats among other species to keep him busy.

We are closed today and tomorrow but by special arrangement the “Dynamic Duo”, Robert Porter and Albert Greenaway are back to try to better Rob’s lake record of 125 fish in a day (225 between them last visit), they have been fishing since the sun came up and have already landed several fish. Will the record be beaten…keep posted and if you want to try for yourselves we are back at it from 8am Wednesday morning, give us a shout and come and enjoy some…..”FUNFISHIN!’……🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣
