Return of Brit Angler

MORNING WORLD…..

Friday saw the return of Brit angler Simon and he had similar results to his previous visit with plenty of fish throughout the day. He was joined by a friend who had to cut his day short due to an old wrist injury and these tropical hard fighting fish will quiet easily remind you of old wounds. Patrik and his boys joined us for the last of several visits as they had to cut short their holiday as the UK announced that Thailand is now considered a red zone and expensive quarantine would be in place if you do not get back in time, thanks Boris! Our pal Paul Whittall joined us in the afternoon for a fishy birthday celebration for yours truly, again lots of fish for him.

Yesterday saw the return of Nick Van-Heyningen and his mate Mick and once again lots of fish. A busy half-day session for a customer from the US and the afternoon saw John Hutchinson and Nauris Bartoska hang their gloves up for a while for a little R&R and several fish in just a couple of hours.

The States and the UK are the leading countries for tourists through the Phuket Sandbox and since last weeks Red Zone announcements it seems that this is about to change very quickly meaning fewer customers for all of us once again, let’s hope it’s not for long but in the meantime, those who are here can take advantage of the fact that there will be more space, reduced rates are still in place and the fish are very hungry, give us a shout and come and enjoy some …..”FUNFISHIN!”….🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟😎

DEALS

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

The “Dynamic Duo”

The “Dynamic Duo” were back with us again on one of our closed days by special arrangement. Robert Porter and Albert Greenaway join us once a month or so and Rob is the current lake record holder with 125 fish in one day (225 BETWEEN THEM) Each time they visit there is just one plan and yes you guessed it, to beat their own records – a tall order by any standards. This time they fell a little short but still had terrific sport with Rob catching 61 fish and Albert only 7 fish short of his personal best with 94. A nice mixture of species with various Red Tail Cats, Striped Cats, Siamese Carp, Walking Cats and many Pacu and if the Red Tails had been on the feed more in the morning these figures would have been a lot higher. The downside to the Pacu is the many bite off’s with their razor-sharp, chisel like teeth and we should note that many of these fish are several kilos in weight so to land 155 fish between them in one session is some work out, well done guys and well done to our guides, Jack ( the pretty one with the fish in the photos) and Di who work a long day nearly non stop to keep the engine running.
 
The fish and the guides get a well earned break today but we’re all back at it again from 8am tomorrow morning.
