The heavy weather played it’s part in keeping the customers away yesterday….

When the Fish are biting

The heavy weather played its part in keeping the customers away yesterday but those who did brave a little rain caught plenty of fish.

It was great to welcome back our old mate Jimmy Robinson who is back for the next few months, sure to be part of the furniture here once again and thanks to him for replenishing by the supply of Reggae Reggae sauce…..yes it’s the little things you miss!
Jimmy was into the fish from the start and soon into the session he hooked an Arapaima, several minutes battle and “Arry” shook his head and that was the end of the battle with Jimmy taking the silver medal. Not unusual and there are a lot more Arrys hooked than netted but Jim was not put off and he went on to land several more fish including a couple of Chao Phra Cats that went some way to make up for his loss. The morning also saw another customer from the UK who was kept very busy for a few hours
The afternoon saw the second of two couples from Israel in as many days, they joined us for a short session and also got well amongst the fish.
It looks like the weather is set to stay with us for a few more days and normally at this time of year as norm like this signals the monsoon starting to change and we are sure to see the wind direction move from West to East over the coming weeks meaning more settled weather, less rain and calmer seas, particularly on the west coast where the main tourist beaches are. In the meantime, the overcast skies keep the temperatures down and can be more comfortable when playing the fish who really don’t care what the conditions are like so if you fancy a bend in the rod we have all you need and by far the best value around so why not join us for some……”FUNFISHIN!”…….🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

In spite of the forecast we were spared the rain

When the Fish are biting
In spite of the forecast, we were spared the rain for much of the day and had a fairly busy one, unexpected but thankful for it.
Our Aussie mate Darryn was back again and we were also joined by three guys from New Zealand who I think were the first Kiwis we have seen since pre-covid. Sylwester from Poland joined us in the morning and by early afternoon he had already left us a great review so he must have enjoyed himself. The morning produced lots of fish for all involved and the afternoon continued in the same way with a couple from England and another couple from Israel also getting in on the action. A great bunch of people from all over the world and all getting amongst the fish, smiling faces all round, happy days and if you fancy the same why not join us for some……..”FUNFISHIN!”………🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

It’s always nice to welcome back old faces!

When the Fish are biting
MORNING WORLD……..It’s always nice to welcome back old faces and yesterday Willem joined us for the morning and bought the family along. Willem has fished with us for some years now and often visits us when not working abroad. Lots of fish for him in a morning session on a very hot day which at this time of year usually means a storm is coming. The Carp, Red Tails, Pacu and Striped catfish provided most of the action and the same went for a Customer from the UK who joined us for a short afternoon session.
Much quieter than we would like but in all honesty the norm for the time of the year. Many people think that a quieter lake will mean more fish for them but that is not always the case, sometimes the more people fishing means more bait going in which can trigger the fish into a feeding frenzy but if its a quiet lake you are after now is the time before the imminent busier high season starts.
As mentioned above they tell us that a storm is coming and some heavy weather forecast for the next few days. It can actually be more comfortable than playing a big fish in the sun and there is cover all around the lake so if you fancy bagging up try the best fishing and best value Phuket has to offer, you won’t be disappointed, come and join us for some…….”FUNFISHIN!”…..🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

A quiet day but so chuffed to welcome back our good friend “Dot”

When the Fish are biting
A quiet day but so chuffed to welcome back our good friend “Dot” and other half Malcolme keeping the scores and he was kept busy with Dot landing 20 fish in under half a day fishing with just one rod for much of the time, not bad at all for someone who up until a couple of years ago had never really fished and has been away from the bank for the last few months. She definitely has not lost her touch catching Siamese Carp from the start along with Walking Catfish, Amazon Red Tail Catfish, Striped catfish, Pacu and Chao Phraya catfish and she wound things up a little early to join the rest of us at “The Office” for cheese and biscuits from England and a few cold ones for a very pleasant evening with some good friends and thanks to them for coming down.
The weather men say that from Thursday onwards we should expect some wet stuff and strong winds. We do have shelter all around the lake with one bank nearly fully covered but if fair weather fishing is what you are after the next couple of days is your window of opportunity, we have some names in the book but availability is still very good and for those who are stuck for things to do when the beach or the pool are not so inviting and that boat trip has been blown off the fishing is still very good when the conditions are not and the fish are already wet so they don’t care. You may get wet but you won’t get cold and you WILL CATCH FISH so why not join us for some….”FUNFISHIN!”……..🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

Zoe and Mandy were back again on Friday afternoon…

When the Fish are biting
Zoe and Mandy were back again on Friday afternoon and they bought some friends along with them. The weather was not friendly but it did not stop the bagging up as the fish did not care.
Ex pat James also joined us in the afternoon with a couple of mates here on holiday and they too braved the rain and caught near non stop.
Yesterday saw a repeat American customer here for some Dad’nLad action and our old mate Chris over here from Cambodia to celebrate his 60th Joined us along with his Aussie mate for a fish filled afternoon, great to see him again and lots of fish between them.
Lovely see see the return of our good friends Dorothy and Malcolm who only landed a few hours before taking their place at “the office” table for a cold one or ???? and we are looking froward to seeing Dot back in action again on Monday.
A day f rest today (for some) and we are back at it again from 8.30 tomorrow morning. Availability is very good for the coming week and while there may well be some rain around the fish are already wet so they keep feeding and high catch rates with some proper lumps are always on the cards…..come and join us for some……..”FUNFISHIN!”……….🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎
