A busy one Friday with a few customers in the morning…

When the Fish are biting
A busy one Friday with a few customers in the morning all catching well and an Arapaima for one of them. The afternoon was our “funfishin match” to celebrate being open for 6 years. 14 contestants were divided into 2 teams “Team Whittall” and “Team Walkabout” all fishing as part of a team and for themselves. In fairness it was one of those rare days when the fishing in the afternoon was tougher than expected, that’s the nature of the sport but everyone still caught, some doing much better than others and our pal Tim claimed his prize for the most fish “The Salty Sea Dog Trophy” in memory our late friend Paul Whittall who was last years joint winner. Tim was fishing for “Team Whittall” who were the overall winners who were quite apt and we all raised a glass in Pauls’s memory. Our friend “Dot” claimed the prize for the biggest fish and the kids involved did not go away empty-handed. A massive thank you to all involved and it was great to see an old face from home when Dave “Smedders” came by bearing gifts and some fragile heads over the last couple of days………….”FUNFISHIN!”……🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

Yours truly is up and at it very early this morning…

When the Fish are biting
Yours truly is up and at it very early this morning to get things ready for this afternoons “”funfishin match”….more about that in a bit.
A fairly busy one yesterday with a nice mixture of people from England, Russia, USA and Holland, all catching well with several species showing. Gary was back for the second time, determined to squeeze one more session in before heading back to Blighty and he was rewarded with lots of Siamese carp for his efforts plus a good few other fish, safe travels mate, been a pleasure.
Tom and Catherine Tero were back for the afternoon and this time Tom took a more traditional European carp fishing approach using boilies, a good few fish for him from the disabled swim with lots of Red Tails late in the day……I wonder if this was a little practice session for this afternoons fish off…….????…..
We currently have 16 competitors for this afternoons match and assuming that they all turn up we will split them into 2 teams but that does not take away the individual element with little prizes for biggest fish, most fish, most points etc meaning they are fishing for a team and in a way against their team mates, just a little fun with “THE SALTY SEA DOG TROPHY” up for grabs which is in memory of last years joint winner and good friend Paul Whittall, gone way to early, not forgotten and missed by many. The lake will be closed for fishing to other anglers for the afternoon and when the whistle blows at 6pm the results will be announced and then some food laid on and no doubt a few “cold ones” into the night and everyone is welcome to help us celebrate our 6th birthday, just a bit of silliness and some……………”FUNFISHIN!”………🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎🏆🏆🏆🍺🍺🍺🥂🥂🥂

With the rain of the last few days things have been a little quieter…

When the Fish are biting
With the rain of the last few days things have been a little quieter customer wise but very busy fish wise, cooler and more comfortable for those who braved a little rain and the fair weather anglers have dipped out a little.
Michael was back again for the second time in three days and as before he was into the fish from the start. Seven species for him and some nice lumps in the mix too. The same went for our friend Dot who had a busy afternoon with lots of Siamese carp.
Our Hungarian friends were back gain in the morning, their young daughter is fishing mad, very capable for such a young Lady and she bagged up. A full day session for a German customer who was also kept very busy and has already booked to return in a couple of days and a half day session was enough to get a Dutch anglers arms aching.
Quiet today and lots of availability, a little space tomorrow morning before we have our “Salty Sea Dog Trophy” match tomorrow afternoon. The match is now full (if everyone turns up) but everyone is welcome to join the fun which will go on into the evening with some food laid on and of course a fridge emptying contest after more ……..”FUNFISHIN!”……..🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

A little more wet stuff around at the moment…

When the Fish are biting
A little more wet stuff around at the moment and while the change in weather may have slowed the fishing down ever so slightly those who braved the rain were well rewarded.
Really nice to be able to welcome back Tom and Catherine. We actually bumped into them the previous night while watching the England game in Walkabout Sports Bar in Karon. They had already booked their place and were here bright and early in the morning and while Catherine took photos Tom wasted no time in getting amongst the fish.
The Chao Phraya Cats are well on the feed and Amanda Wilson from the US of A bagged a couple in a busy morning session along with Siamese carp, Red Tails, Pacu and Striped Catfish to keep her busy. A very good Lady Angler, Amanda owns Deerfoot Lodge and Resort in Wisconsin which is right on the banks of The Chippea Flowage, Wisconsins largest wilderness lake so she knows her stuff and we are chuffed that she chose to give our little venue a try.
Our thanks to Miss wee from “Exquisite Tours” in Patong for sending an Aussie customer our way for a morning session, lots of fish for him and a busy session, the same going for a Polish customer here for the day and a couple of Russian anglers on a short session.
A little more rain forecast for the coming days but nothing too serious and the photos prove that the fish really don’t care. A few names in the book but still plenty of availability so why not give us a shout, book your place and join us for some….”FUNFISHIN!”……🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎
