It was good to see a familiar face yesterday. Jem has been fishing here for several years and always manages at least a couple of sessions when he’s over. His second cast of the day he hooked into a nice Arapaima but “Arry” had other plans and Jem lost that battle. Undeterred he went on to bag several Siamese carp, Chao Phraya Cats, Red Tails, Pacu among other species for near non stop action throughout the day and loads of fish. Well done to Jem and he is sure to be back again in a few days time.

The evening saw more torrential rain and we feel for our friends who have businesses in Karon that were flooded yet again, the second time in as many weeks as the flood pumps packed up again! We welcomed the rain even though we got a good soaking when an unplanned delivery turned up. One of the locals had a few nice Giant Snakehead, a beautiful fish and a species we did not have until last night…..who will be the first to catch one of these ????
