A busy Saturday that ended up better than we expected. We had a couple of bookings for the morning which produced some nice fish for customers from England and Russia. Our pal Mark has his cousin Kevin and his better half visiting, nice to see Kevin again and he booked on for the afternoon with Mark taking a little time out from “Islander Sports Bar and Restaurant” in Rawai to join his cousin for a short session. The afternoon was very hot which did put the fish down for a while but as ever as the day goes on they started to munch again with the usual suspects giving battle.
We had an inquiry for 1 in the afternoon which turned to 3 and then to 7 fishing which at this time of year is very much appreciated. Again after a slowish start, the chaps got amongst ’em and they must have been happy as they are all back again for more of the same today. I mentioned the other day that some customers who were on their way over were taken (without their knowledge) to a different venue by a certain transport provider. Well, they made it to us Saturday afternoon, a lovely family from The Netherlands apologising for not showing before which was not their fault, had a great time and have rebooked again for Wednesday afternoon saying that they much preferred it here to the place they were dragged to all in the name of a kickback so beware people there are those out there that really don’t give a hoot about your experience, they just want your money and it is not only our type of business that can be affected by this greed.
The maintenance work to some banks continues and while it may be a little inconvenient it does not affect the fishing. We chose to do the work at this time of year with May being one of our quietest months and the water levels at their lowest for the year making it much easier to do the work. Hopefully, it will not be for long and we are all now praying for the monsoon to start. In the meantime if a bend in the rod is what you are looking for don’t be put off…..YOU WILL CATCH, so come and join us for some……..”FUNFISHIN!”……….
