After last weeks torrential rain the weather sorted itself out a little over the weekend and Saturday was fairly busy with customers from England, Poland, Australia and Korea all getting amongst the fish.
Our pal Jimmy Robinson was here for the afternoon. Jim fishes here regularly and has caught most of our species and while he has caught Arapaima at other venues he claimed his first one here, the first of many in the future we hope. Not to be out done a young Korean lad who was here with his family also claimed an “Arry”, a little help was needed but that is sure to be a fish that he won’t forget, well done little fella.
A customer from Poland started with a short 2.5-hour morning session, extended to half-day and as the fish kept coming he extended it to a full day which kinda speaks for itself really.
Much the same yesterday, the Arapaima didn’t show so the Chao Phraya Cats stepped in instead and anyone who has caught one of these will vouch that they are a force to be reckoned with. It was nice to see some returning Danish customers yesterday and young Enyo from Switzerland was back for either the third or fourth time. Another repeat customer from Scotland and a couple of new faces to boot. A little rain in the morning meant a couple of no shows yet again. Our online booking system will be up and running very soon and THAT WILL BE THE ONLY WAY THAT WE CAN GUARANTEE A PLACE. Not something that we want to do but the few ruin things for others and it’s amazing how a little rain or that food poisoning seems to be forgotten when a deposit has been paid.
There is sure to be a little more rain over the next days, and weeks but the monsoon winds are turning to mean far more settled weather. If it’s very sunny the same shelters that keep the rain off also protect from the sun and are all around the lake. The fridge is full, and the lake is fuller with lots of very hungry fish so why not join us for some………..”FUNFISHIN!”……….
