After months and years of tough and very uncertain times we are starting to see the return of the good times again at last. With the bars being closed for a “Buddha Day”, Monday was very busy with many customers from all over the world. Our pal Steve took some time out from running one of the best watering holes on the Island, The Aussie Bar on Bangla Road, Patong and he bought a couple of mates down for a short session. Others were here for varying sessions and while the fishing was a little slower than normal for some in the morning, things really livened up by the afternoon and everyone was into fish. As day turned to night we were joined by several friends for “nibbles and soft drinks” (if you know, you know) for what was our busiest day for a very long time.
Yesterday was similar with our Danish friend Lars (aka “Lau Kau” ,after his bar in Patong) and Anders and they also bought some pals along. They all had lots of fish as did other customers from France, England and Germany. All the usual species were caught in good numbers, the Arapaima were not up for it but the Chao Phraya were with a cracking fish for an Aussie angler and another for a Frenchman who had over 60 fish for his session showing that at busier times the catch rates can still be crazy.
There are a few names in the book for today and the rest of the week but still lots of availability. We will be opening every day from next month when we will be fully staffed once again so if you fancy some of the above with best fishing and best value Phuket and the surrounding area has to offer then look no further, you won’t be disappointed so give us a shout, book your place and join us for some………”FUNFISHIN!”……..
