At last….. after a long time waiting it seems that our Mekong Catfish are back on the feed, did our plan work by adding some new editions to stimulate the old residents ?, we’ll never really know but both groups being caught with regular visitor Mike catching 4 of these brutes in a day along with Chao Phraya Catfish, Siamese carp and other species to give him a real workout on his last days fishing of this trip. He will have slept well that night and we look forward to his return in a couple of months.
Our mate “Mick Norway” was back again yesterday and similar results for him taking nearly 40 fish for his session from 8 different species.
In truth as is so often the case some do better than others and that was the case of late. There are no better swims on a small water like ours but the fish will move around and where one spot fishes well on one day it may well be the opposite the next day. The same goes with the shaded areas of the lake, the sun’s position does not remain the same over the course of the day and it goes without saying that we will do our best to make full-day customers as comfortable as possible but when customers turn up for an afternoon session seeing all day customers in the shade that means they will have been in the sun in the morning and there is cover all around.
Its been great to welcome back so many old faces some of them have been fishing with us since we first opened so we thank them for their continued support and its always nice to greet new customers with both sets from all over the world, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales along with Germany, Austria, France, Australia, Russia, China and more. The language barrier can sometimes be a challenge but somehow we get around it and all enjoy some………..”FUNFISHIN!”………..
