New Pump More Water

MORNING WORLD…..

One of the reasons we chose this location for the fishing park is its close proximity to a “klong” (canal or stream in Thai) so we would be able to pump water as in this climate a lot is lost to evaporation, particularly in the dry season. Not being an expert in this field advise was taken from “experts” and large diesel pumps were used which turned out to be poor advice as they are noisy, expensive to run and maintain and just not up to the job for the hours required. Well over a month ago our pump packed up as did our back up pump that our landlords kindly loaned us which meant rapid repairs were needed which unfortunately have not yet happened as we were fobbed off and lied to by so-called engineers.

A decision was made to go electric. Again, not having much knowledge of this I mentioned my plans to some friends and help soon came. Our pal Nick Allen had only just returned from Scotland and done 2 weeks quarantine but he came down to check out some pumps and do some calcs sending messages and links to information while he should have been enjoying a cold one. Another friend, Jon Pickles helped out with some electrical advice, so I started to get the ball rolling and one afternoon while having a cold one in the Aussie Bar on Bangla Road, Patong, I told my mate “Woodsy” what my plans were and he was here in a couple of days, accompanied me to the pump shop and with his knowledge of the subject, he saved me money and recommended the correct pump to purchase. The electricians were called in and two days later and thanks to “Woodsy” we are now once again pumping water which with 2 or 3 months of very dry weather approaching could not have come at a better time.

I can’t thank everyone who helped enough, there are also others who I have not mentioned, they know who they are. I’ll be paying a visit to “The Aussie Bar” to buy the boss a cold one or 12 very soon….Once again, thanks guys.😎 ……”FUNFISHIN!”…….🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠🐟🎣🐠😎

DEALS

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.

Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.

We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.

Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????
