MORNING WORLD……..We do like to see smiling faces and our regular customer and friend Arthur in the first pic certainly looks like he enjoyed himself as have several others over the last few days. The Mekong Catfish continue to test the muscles along with Siamese Carp, Chao Phraya Cats, Red Tails, Rips Saw Cats, Arapaima, Pacu and other species keeping catch rates high and arms aching.
Some strong winds and big rains at this time of year, with the forecasters saying there is more to come, but as with all weather predictions they can not always get it right and with even more room for error here in the tropics, so while it’s worth monitoring, it’s also worth bearing in mind that a storm can easily change route and miss us completely. With so many micro climates on the Island it can be pouring down in one place but bone dry and sunny just a mile up the road. The fish really don’t care if it rains and while we do not recommend holding a carbon fibre rod for long periods during an electrical storm the fishing can be great and there is cover all around the lake, your going to get wet anyway when you get into the water for the photo of what often is the biggest fish you have ever caught, there are showers and towels on stand by so you’ll be clean, dry and warm again in no time.
Our quietest time of the year before the high season, that is not far off, so availability is very good. We still can get busy so we still advise pre booking through our website, which is the only way we can guarantee a place and if you do just call or message us to say you are coming please have the decency to let us know if your plans change, we may have turned away others on the strength of your “booking”. Although now we are far less likely to do that without a deposit, sad but a few ruin things for the many.
So if you are in Phuket to get “hooked up” and you fancy a work out get your name in the book and join us for some….”FUNFISHIN!”………
