Another fairly quiet one but lots of good fish caught and a couple of belters lost.
Canadian anglers now living in Australia Lisa Edwards and her other half joined us for the morning. Lots of action from the start with several species of different species, shapes and sizes. A large Arapaima took Lisa’s bait but the trademark head shake spelt the end of that battle. Thats fishing and they are booked in for some more on Monday.
Some Dad’nLad sport for Graham and his Son from England on a short afternoon session, plenty of fish for them and our German friend was also back for the second time this week for some Dad’nDaughter fishing (even if she did spend more time playing with our little girl Jazzy). The fish were coming thick and fast for Dad and then there was a screaming run to the far corner followed by run after run which almost always means a Chao Phraya Catfish. The battle lasted well over an hour only to end in a matter of seconds as the hook pulled out, the line went slack and the fish swam off. Gutted but grateful for such a good fight he has also vowed to return for more.
The above is an every day occurrence here so if you fancy some of the same why not get involved. There is very good availability for the next couple of days and the weather forecast looks perfect for fishing with just a little rain and plenty of cloud cover. When the fish are biting nothing else matters
A quiet Saturday with the weather at this time of year working against us, when its raining they don’t want to get wet and when its sunny they run for the beach or the pool and who could blame them ? That said the rain does not deter the fish and sometimes its more comfortable being a little damp than being too hot.
We did welcome a Danish Dad’nLad duo who asked us what the chances of catching were when they arrived in the morning. I smiled, told them not to worry and they would catch lots, perhaps the looks on their faces showed a little doubt but that soon changed as they “bagged up” on Siamese Carp, Striped Catfish, Pacu, Red Tails, a bonus Chao Phraya Catfish and hooked but lost Arapaima. Very happy with their days work they left beaming and wowing to return.
We also had a couple of our season ticket customers join us in the afternoon and our pal Tim Darton was once again using his fly rod. Our mutual friend Neil got wind of this and as our planned sea fishing trip aboard “Fish Eagle” was blown off he bought his fly tying kit along, something he says he has not opened for near on 40 years. They went through the goodies and after several fly’s were tried the Red Tail Cats could not resist them, mission accomplished !
Our mate Paul came along with better half Ann and Daughter Elly who is Jazzy’s best fried at school, the pair of them were straight in the pool before deciding to catch some Java Barb, which they both succeeded in doing so jazzy had her first pupil and Elly caught her first fish, lovely and very nice afternoon around “the office” with a few cold ones in great company, compensation for the lack of customers.
The staff and the fish had a rest day yesterday but we are all back at it again from 8.30 this morning. There is a little wet stuff forecast for the coming week but there is shelter all around the lake and the fish really don’t care so if the beach or the pool are not that appealing and you can brave a little rain why not get involved, you won’t be disappointed with probably the nearest thing you will get to a guaranteed catch so come and join us for some………”FUNFISHIN!”……….🎣🎣🎣🐠🐠🐠🐟🐟🐟😎😎😎

MORNING WORLD…..

 
England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia and Russia all represented yesterday.
 
Nice to see Gordon back again and when a big Scotsman complains of aching arms you know he’s had a good day.
 
Jason was back again along with his Dad Walter, a bumper day for them with lots of fish from lots of species and the icing was well and truly put on the cake when Walter won a hard battle with a very nice Arapaima.
 
Aussie angler Dan also got amongst ’em with lots of fish on a mornong session and the same went for Bernard from Ireland in the afternoon.
 
Mum’nLad action in the morning for Freya and her boys and Grandad’nLad action in the afternoon made for a very nice fish filled day.

All Prices Are Per Person – Strictly N Rod Sharing

 

FULL DAY 8.30AM – 6.30 PM = 2,000 BAHT

1 X PREDATOR ROD + 1 KG CHICKEN / FISH BAITS
1 X CARP ROD + 6 KG GROUNDBAIT & HOOKBAITS 

HALF DAY 8.30AM – 1.30PM OR 1.30PM – 6.30PM =1,600 BAHT

AS ABOVE WITH ½ KG CHICKEN / FISH BAITS & 3 KG GROUNDBAIT & HOOKBAITS 

2.5 HOURS = 1,000 BAHT + BAIT COSTS (see below)

Additional Groundbait is 150THB per 3 KG & Additional Predator Baits are 70THB per KG. Customers may bring their own baits (bread, fresh fish, prawns etc.)

Prices include tackle & baits as listed, assistance from the guides & use of facilities

Children under 10 years are half price if fishing with an adult but may be limited to 1 rod

Fishing is from 8.30am – 6.30pm – last admittance 3pm

Food is available from 9am – 3pm & drinks all-day

CLOSED TUESDAY’S may be subject to change in peak season.

MORNING WORLD…..

 
A day of Dads and lads with customers from The States, Chile and France. Always good to see the kids enjoying some fishing even if we do have a the odd rod break !
 
When I think back to the size of the fish I caught as a boy it makes me realise just how well these kids do getting these fish in, these are extremely hard fighting fish and some of them are conciderably heavier than the young anglers.
 
We’re normally closed Mondays and Tuesdays at the moment but by special arrangement “The Dynamic Duo” are back with us today. Robert Porter and Albert Greenaway always “bag up”, the record held by Rob is 125 fish in a day and the same day Albert got 100 fish, will they be able to hit over 225 fish today?, we’ll have to wait and see what happens and if anyone fancies seeing them in action they would be welcome to pop in, in the first 20 minutes Rob had 3 fish so it looks like they may be on target. Hard work but still…..”FUNFISHIN!”…….🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣😎

DEALS

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are currently doing any deals and so the poster below should answer that question as we are basically offering our fishing at half price in an effort to tempt ex pats and remaining stranded tourists on the Island. All the usual things are included in the price and with very little pressure on the lake, very good catch rates are to be expected. We have removed our short 3 hour session as it would just not be worth doing and the half day package is great value anyway.
 
Please note that we do not offer hourly rates and the packages that we are offering do not even come close to meeting our running costs so please do not ask for further reductions.
 
We were also offering a half days fishing with 8 cold ones included a couple of days a week for just 1,000 baht (do the math) but we had no takers so we will have a re think.
 
Virtually all businesses here are struggling with the majority not even open and many perhaps closed for good. We are very aware that this is the same world over and this is not a cry for help, just putting it out there for you and the fish photos were all caught in the last week so why not come and catch some for yourselves and enjoy some “FUNFISHIN!”…..??????????

  • Current Regulations Must be Observed.

MORNING WORLD…..

Another busy weekend even though Sunday was very wet with rain throughout most of the day.

A first for us yesterday as Bangkok Expat Mark returned with his fly rod for the second time this week and after catching several Amazon Red Tail Cats “Arry” took the fly. Two anglers having success on the fly this week.

Customers from England, Holland, France, USA, Middle East, Thailand and Germany all had busy days with loads of fish caught. A nice mixture of Phuket Sandbox tourists and Expats made the numbers. Many of these were repeat customers like Jemma, Frankie and Alan ffrom England who joined us for the fourth time in as many weeks and our young Dutch friend Mason, here with his Dad for the fifth time in the last two weeks, I think its safe to say that he is hooked.

Our pals “The Dynamic Duo” Robert Porter and Albert Greenaway are with us by special arrangement again today and the fish are having a rest tomorrow, we’re back at it again from 8am Wednesday morning, the prices remain low and the catch rates are high. PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE COMING and enjoy some…….”FUNFISHIN!”
