MORNING WORLD…….It’s been that wet over the last few days that our head guide Suwat, aka “Boy” had to keep his cagoule on when he was in the water !
It’s been the quietest few days that we have had for a long time and if I’m honest I was concerned that all the rain, very strong winds and complete lack of sun would have had a detrimental affect on the fishing but while perhaps things were a little slower than they can be those that did brave the elements were well rewarded.
Our pal Joey squeezed two days on the bounce before he heads back to Blighty today. Lots of Siamese Carp, a good few Mekong Cats that did slow down a little with the cooler conditions, Arapaima, Red tails, Pacu etc etc and beautiful coloured Giant Snakehead ( not so giant !) that snaffled his predator bait intended for Chao Phraya that eluded him this time. Safe travels fella and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
A couple of other not so often seen fish also caught this week, Chris from the UK had a Wallagu and another angler a Featherback which to my knowledge is the first one caught since we stocked them a couple of months ago. Our stock levels are at their peak now, in fact we are well overstocked but hey ho thats what keeps people catching and while we are planning to add just a few more fish soon the long term plan is to introduce a few more unusual species to the mix, not easy to do as our Chao Phraya Cats have very big appetites and will try to eat just about anything that can or can’t fit in their mouths so we will see.
I’ll put my head on the block and say that I think we have seen the worst of the weather. At this time of year we are sure to still see more rain but with any luck there will be some sun in the mix too and as we head out of September things are sure to get busy again so if you want a guaranteed place try to plan a couple of days ahead and pre book through our website www.chalongfishingpark.com get your name in the book and join us for some……..”FUNFISHIN!”………
