Well, yours truly is well and truly back from his little jaunt so you will have to suffer a little more of this again. While things have been fairly quiet which is fully expected for the time of year we still had a few customers over the last few days and as the photos show loads of fish being caught. I’ve not had a proper chance to speak to Jen and the staff about what’s been going on but its clear to see that there were some very happy punters with Siamese Carp, Mekong catfish, Striped Catfish, Red Tail Catfish, Grass Carp and Pacu all gracing the nets.
Our pal Johnny Boy was back again with his Brother for the third time in a couple of weeks and it looks like Dave and Cath from the UK, back for their second visit had a bumper day. Some Dad’nLad action for ex-pat Dom and his boys with some of their fish as big as them, great to see.
The maintenance works to the banks has come on really nicely so a big thank you to Weeyan Phromthep and his staff for getting that done and to our staff who at quieter times reduced a mountain of hardcore down to a small pile (still more needed) backfilling where the banks have been repaired. Still, more to do over the coming weeks and months getting ready again for busier times.
It’s amazing how much things can change in just a few short days. Our water levels have gone up close to 300mm and before long with more rain forecast the concrete gravel boards will not be visible and our lake will be full once again.
The rains have definitely now arrived and while a little later than some years we are all grateful for it, the only downside is that you can nearly watch the grass growing as everywhere turns a beautiful lush green once again….. lets’s get the strImmers out!
The rain does keep some customers away but the truth is that for many people it’s a lot more comfortable for many people and in my opinion, the fishing just gets better now. Your skin does not leak and there is cover all around the lake, don’t be put off it’s better than the beach or the pool and it’s never cold.
I’d like to wish my better half Jen a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and we will be having a little celebration this afternoon/evening/night….the usual silliness with a few cod ones and no doubt some nibbles, everyone is welcome to join us and for some……..”FUNFISHIN!”……………
