” WHEN “ARRY” MET BARRY…. (only briefly)!
The afternoon saw the return of Darryn Smith from Sydney and his mate Barry from Wales and they bought along their pal Rob also from Australia.
The first cast of the afternoon was intercepted by a decent sized hungry Arapaima which Barry fought successfully and bought it to the pen. The fish was unhooked and just as the guides were ready to raise the fish with Barry showing his best pose “Arry” thought different and made his bolt for freedom somehow managing to squeeze between his captors…. trophy photo opportunity over in the shake of a tail ! Sorry for the cheesy intro but Barry does sound like Sally and I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time now and we don’t get that many Sally’s fishing here.

The chaps continued to catch well through the afternoon with several other species including plenty of Siamese Carp, Amazon, Asian and Tiger Red Tail Cats, Striped Cats and Pacu to keep them busy and the same goes for the only other customer of the day, season ticket holder Fernand who always “bags up”.
Although lots of Arapaima are hooked many are lost with a simple shake of their heads so even though this one was camera shy we were happy to see at least some of him and let’s hope for more in the coming days. A little wet stuff on the cards for today but the fish really don’t care. As things stand there are no bookings so if you want to be next in line for some Arapaima action or sport from the many other species we have there is no better time than now as you will most likely have the place to yourself and there is cover all around the lake. Give us a shout and join us for some…………”FUNFISHIN!”………
